Milk Moon Lactation Tea is made for the breastfeeding mother who wants her lactation tea to be something she actually looks forward to drinking.
Completely fenugreek-free and caffeine-free, this colourful loose-leaf blend has a fruity, sweet and tangy flavour that’s delicious served hot or poured over ice. It combines 10 botanicals traditionally used across lactation, postpartum and general herbal wellness practices.
Because a breastfeeding ritual can nourish the mother, too.
Fenugreek is a familiar ingredient in many traditional lactation blends, but its distinctive flavour isn’t for everyone.
Milk Moon takes a different approach. Moringa, fennel and other traditionally used botanicals sit alongside mineral-rich herbs and calming favourites such as nettle, oat straw and chamomile.
The result is a breastfeeding tea with a bright pink colour and a flavour designed to be enjoyed rather than endured.
Each cup combines 10 carefully selected botanicals:
Hibiscus gives Milk Moon its beautiful pink colour and distinctive sweet-tart character. It also contains naturally occurring plant compounds, including antioxidants, and has a long history of use in herbal teas around the world.
Red raspberry leaf is one of the most familiar botanicals in traditional women’s herbalism. It has a long history of use in preparations created for the postpartum period and brings a gentle earthy note to the blend.
Moringa is a nutrient-rich plant containing naturally occurring vitamins, minerals and amino acids. It is also traditionally used as a galactagogue – a food or herb used with the intention of supporting breast milk production.
Individual responses to galactagogues vary, so no lactation tea can guarantee an increase in milk supply.
Alfalfa is traditionally used as a nourishing herb and naturally contains a range of plant nutrients, including vitamin K. It has also been included in traditional lactation preparations.
Nettle is another familiar ingredient in nourishing herbal teas. It naturally contains several minerals and has a long history of traditional use during periods when additional nutritional support is valued.
Its mild, earthy character balances the brighter flavours in Milk Moon.
Fennel has traditionally been used both as a digestive herb and in lactation preparations. Its naturally sweet, aromatic flavour works particularly well alongside hibiscus and the other herbs in this blend.
Chamomile is one of the world’s best-known calming herbal teas. Its gentle floral flavour makes it a natural addition to an evening cup of Milk Moon when you’re ready to slow down after a long day.
Calendula brings another traditional postpartum botanical to the blend. Its golden petals have a long history of use in herbal preparations and add to Milk Moon’s colourful combination of flowers, leaves and herbs.
Dandelion has traditionally been used in herbal preparations associated with digestion and liver function. It also naturally contains a variety of plant nutrients and adds another earthy botanical element to the tea.
Oat straw has a long history of use as a nourishing nervine in traditional herbal practice. It is commonly included in blends designed around calm, rest and general wellbeing.
Several herbs in Milk Moon have traditionally been used as galactagogues. However, individual responses to lactation herbs vary, and herbal tea should be considered one part of a broader breastfeeding routine rather than a guaranteed way to increase milk production.
Breast milk production primarily depends on frequent and effective milk removal through breastfeeding or expressing.
If you’re concerned about low supply, it can be helpful to consider feeding or expressing frequency, effective milk transfer, pump performance and flange fit where relevant. Ongoing concerns about your baby’s intake, growth or your milk production should be discussed with an appropriate healthcare professional or lactation specialist.
Milk Moon can be enjoyed warm when you want something comforting or chilled for an easy breastfeeding drink on warmer days.
Prepare the tea according to the brewing directions supplied on the packaging. For an iced version, brew as directed, allow it to cool and serve chilled or over ice.
Pack size: 100g loose-leaf tea
Approximate yield: 30–40 cups per bag.
The exact number of cups will depend on how much loose-leaf tea you use for each serving.
Not for use during pregnancy.
Milk Moon has been formulated specifically for the breastfeeding period. However, herbal products may not be appropriate for everyone. If you take medication, manage a health condition or have questions about individual ingredients while breastfeeding, share the ingredient list with your healthcare provider before use.
Keep out of reach of children.
Feeding a baby can make it feel as though everything revolves around what your body can provide for someone else. Milk Moon creates a small ritual that’s yours as well.
Brew it hot when you need something comforting. Pour it over ice when the day is warm. Keep a cup beside you through a long feed or pumping session. Fruity, colourful and completely fenugreek-free, it’s a lactation tea designed to make that moment taste good, too.
